Google Drive to Chromecast for Chrome OS

Google has added a new update to its Chrome OS, with which users will be able to stream videos stored on Google Drive directly to a Chromecast. To avail this new feature you must be using the dev channel version of Chrome OS as well as don’t forget to install the Google’s Chromecast extension.

For now this feature is available in the Developer build only, but soon Google will push it to the regular stable build of Chrome OS after testing and removing all the bugs and issues. This feature is also not available on Dev version of Chrome for Windows.

It’s really convenient and healthy integration by Google to its Chrome OS as now you can watch videos, movies stored in your Google Drive on you Chromecast. To stream from Google Drive, you just need to play the video residing in your Google Drive, where you will see a new sparkly icon of Chromecast so just click on it and choose to start casting your video by specifying the Chromecast (if you have more than one on network) and keep watching your videos on the bigger screen.

Google Drive Video casting is also a nice addition to Chromebooks, whereas recently Google has also announced the availability of 4 Android apps on Chrome OS.
