If you are not big fan of Google’s Hangout application for messaging, then believe me there are a whole lot of applications available on the Google Play Store. Each of them has their own pros & cons. Fortunately, Android allows changing core applications without any difficulty and you can do so with utmost ease. Below you’ll find information on how to set any application for your default SMS and MMS in Android Lollipop Smartphones.

1: Swipe down from top and click Settings icon, under “Wireless & Networks” setting tap on “More”

2: Tap on the “Default SMS app” option and here select the app of your choice.

For your information, when you install third-party messaging apps, they do have quick links in their app to make it default, but if it’s not you can follow the procedure above.
