Smartphones are much bigger in size they have enough room on the screen to fit almost anything. If you want to add number row to Google Keyboard, no problem you can definitely do that. It’s not only available for Android 5.0 Lollipop, but actually can be enabled on pretty much any Android device. You just have to tweak some Keyboard settings whereas the procedure is mentioned below in detail.
First of all, Download and install the Google Keyboard app from PlayStore if you don’t already have that installed.
Now Go to Keyboard’s settings, to do so go to Android Settings Menu > Scroll Down and tap Language & Input > tap Google Keyboard > tap Appearance and Layouts > tap Custom Input Styles > Now we have to set up a new custom input style, for this hit the + button (at the top right corner).
You will be prompted to choose the language of your choice. After selecting your desired language, choose “PC” for the layout. After tapping on Add Button it will prompt you to enable Custom Input Styles, hit Yes or Enable.
To enable this custom input style – go to Android Settings Menu > Language & Input > Google Keyboard > Languages > and deselect “Use system language”. Finally select English (US) (PC) (I chose English as my language but you can choose whatever you like). That’s it! Now you will be able to see a dedicated number row in the Google Keyboard.
Note: this is a new skin on mobile phones (inspired from PC keyboard) so make sure to press shift key to get to a lot of those secondary characters.
